Decoding 3 languages at the same time

I can’t help but be amused, pissed off at the same time to make English sentence lands fittiingly in my two other dialects.

It’s like having 3 split personalities:

  • English – the aesthetic, superficial one. So-so meaning.
  • Tagalog – the sympathetic personality.
  • Bisaya – the emphatic one. Warm. My mother tongue.

Do you how irritating that is to “get it” in all three? In a fraction of a second, or three seconds… my brain needs to do harder. It is mentally draining. Irritating.

The interpretations are trying to catch up the words. The meaning is courting the words, begging to land well.

You know what’s the worst feeling– and the worst physical sensations? Job interviews. Networking pitches.

F*ck.

What part of this felt familiar—or not at all? I’d like to hear your version.

Until then, take care.
